Quiet house

The Doreck household has been rather quiet lately........Jaxon has been gone for almost an entire week. Its hard to believe life even existed before having a child. Brandon and I miss him so so much. Last Thursday we flew to Chicago for Brandon's brother's wedding....did the whole wedding weekend and on Monday we flew home to Austin. Jaxon drove with his Mimi, Aunt Margaret, Uncle Calvin and Mamma to Kentucky for the Rhule Family Reunion. He gets back to the house on Monday and I can't wait to hold him in my arms and give him tons of kisses!!! We've been getting the daily phone calls and pictures on the phone but its just not the same. Luckly he has done great with all the traveling and new relatives that he is meeting. Jaxon did great in the wedding and was the cutest little ring bearer and a dancing machine at the reception. He takes after his daddy with his dance moves!!!!

Potty Training FUN

You are now entering the potty training zone........

So I broke down this weekend and bought Jaxon some pullups at the grocery store. We had been putting him on the potty at home in the mornings and evenings and also on the weekends for the past couple of weeks. We had some hits and misses. He's not all that great at telling you that he has to go pee pee each time but he sure knows what to do when you sit him on the toilet. No success with number 2 but hey he's not even 2 1/2 yet!! I'm not pushing it and I haven't gotten rid of all the diapers yet....those things are expensive and pullups aren't cheaper!!! Well see how well he does at daycare with using the potty....luckly he has lots of peers that are already potty trained. For now he likes his cool Cars pullups!!!

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July!!! Hope everyone has a wonderful day celebrating our nations independence with family and friends! Well Jaxon made it through his 1st week at his new school. He loves going to Miss. Lisa's house. He's made the transition so well, I just hope he keeps it up next week! Not much more going on in the Doreck family....just getting ready for cousins Kim, Wil and Jessica to arrive for the weekend. We have a day planned of barbaques and fireworks and tomorrow we are going to San Antonio. Thanks Grandma and Pawpa for the birthday circus tickets!!! We are so excited to go tomorrow...mommy is more excited right now but once Jaxon gets there I know he'll have an awesome time.

1st summer family vacation

We finally took our first summer vacation to the beach last week. My brother, sister-in-law and nephews flew into San Antonio last Friday and we headed down to Port Aransas for some fun in the sun.

Jaxon had a great time playing in the sand and water with his cousin Tyler. While we were down on the coast, the guys (Brandon and Jason) went deep sea fishing and brought home some fish and the ladies (Heather and Erin) took the kids to the Texas State Aquarium.

We also had a great time visiting with relatives. We headed back to Austin on Tuesday and Wednesday we had a fun filled day at Kiddie Acres Amusement Park, Main Event and rocking out at home with Bradon's new Wii game....ROCK BAND. I don't suggest playing glow in the dark putt putt with 2 year olds!!! Clubs were swinging and golf balls were being thrown!!!

Overall we had a great vacation and we ended it with a trip to Sea World on Thursday. Jaxon had a blast and I'll add pictures in the next blog. Be on the lookout for a blog about Jaxon and his new "preschool", he starts on Monday. Brandon and I are really excited to see him grow in this new environment. Till next time.....

Welcome to the Doreck Family Blog!!! This is my first attempt at something like this so please bear with me while I learn how to navigate this new tool. My goal of this blog is to keep family and friends up to date about the happenings in our little family. Life with a 2 year old is quite exciting!!!
